Bijou Theatre

I was making a hosted horror show, called “Movie Madness with Dr. Praxis.” It became too much to do with my physical situation. I picked up a piece of animation software and started using that to do the show with. I would divide the film into 4 segments and had to write an opening segment for each piece. Usually, by segment 4, I really wouldn’t have anything left to say about the film.

I found these two characters who came with the software. They were clothed in what could be a uniform. The female was named Red and the male was named Roger. They became Buzz Corny (the male). And the female became named Tea Error. I was watching a show (Big Bang Theory, I think) where a female began chortling “A tiara, a tiara!” And I came up with the name “Tea Error.” Ranks are another matter, but I think I finally have them corrected. Mostly I borrowed the ranks of the US Air Force, but I did borrow Chief Warrant Officer, and Warrant officers in general from the Army and ensigns from the navy.

The episodes started out as quick jokes, set up and punchline, out. Most of them were less than three minutes, most barely a minute.

But, as I worked on these quick videos, these thoughts started entering my mind. “Can I make these videos longer? Could I make a sitcom of these characters? What about a film?”

So, I began trying to flesh out the characters. Most of the inspirations for different items that are being used in this series are discussed in more detail in the sources section of this website.

I use Cartoon Animator 5 to animate this series. Not the best, but I caught it on sale, so I could afford it. So many things I still need to learn about this software. So little to do, so much time to do it in. Wait! Reverse that!

I would like to thank everyone who has created characters, backgrounds, planets and the space ships which is such a long list of names anymore, its hard to list them all.
